April - How to Scent your Wedding for an Everlasting Euphoria

When it comes to your wedding, you want to capture every moment of your magical day and preserve it in a time capsule. The senses are incorporated and thoroughly overwhelmed during a wedding; the SIGHT of loved ones gathering around for cherished photos, the SOUND of laughter roaring from the groomsman's speech, the distinguished TASTE of the food and especially the cake, and the feeling when you TOUCH the fabric on your wedding gown, but what about capturing the SMELL of your special day? The smell of something can immediately trigger a detailed memory or an intense emotion. Here at Evodia Fragrances, we turn memories into an everlasting euphoria.

Memories are often associated with the sense of smell and we want only the best for you and your special day!

The month of April specifically symbolizes both love and growth. The traditional etymology is from the verb aperire, meaning "to open" in allusion to it being the month and season where the trees and flowers begin to blossom and open. Another explanation for the etymology of April goes all the way back to Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of Love, Beauty, and Procreation. Fitting since the month of April is all about blossoming trees and flowers.

When we think of April, we associate our senses reawakening, the smell of rain, and the feeling of love to this springtime period. Scents are handled by the olfactory bulb, which stimulates the beta waves that are associated with alertness. Since this is close to the same area that triggers emotion and memory, it allows us to create an everlasting euphoria for you! Unfortunately, this time of year, especially in the Midwest, can bring some not-so-pleasant smells; cow manure and soil needing tending to. However, here at Evodia Fragrances, we only want the best for you. So no unpleasant aromas here. To capture every scent of Spring, Evodia Fragrances has over120 oils, and the euphoric aroma combinations we can create are endless!

Reawakening Your Senses

  • The aromas of jasmine, citrus, and peppermint, all help alleviate stress and anxiety, helping the body to unwind. (Do these come in pill form? Asking for a friend). Jasmine specifically is an aphrodisiac, meaning it can heighten sexual desire. Citrus is fresh, bright, and zesty, giving us a tease of the summer months to come. Peppermint can be described as being fresh, sharp and comparable to Menthol, which is also commonly used to treat stress, anxiety, and restlessness. Because these are all strong scents individually, they realign your nerves just in time for you to walk down the aisle. (So not getting cold feet)!

    • One example of our euphoric combinations include: A spicy aroma with thrilling notes of Jasmine and Orange, this scent evokes the feeling of awareness. Lingering notes of Sweet Rain, Lemon, and White Musk provide a wake of attentiveness. Subtle notes of Peppermint and Sweet Grass flow through, which bring forth confidence.

Petrichor - The Smell of Fresh Rain

  • When it rains, it pours! (And sometimes it doesn't stop pouring). Moments before a rain event, an “earthy” smell known as petrichor permeates the air. It has a musky, fresh, and generally pleasant scent (like me after my morning shower), which actually comes from the moistening of the ground. The word Petrichor is constructed from the Greek “Petra” meaning “stone” and “ichor”, the fluid that flows in the veins of the gods in Greek mythology. (No Chris, you don't have that).

    • One example of our euphoric combinations include: A woodsy aroma with sharp notes of Sweet Rain and Agarwood, this scent stimulates aspiration. Lingering notes of Aspen Grass, Gardenia, and Mountain Rain provide a wake of vibrancy. Sprouting notes of Sweet Grass and Dirt flow through, which bring forth strength.

Love Is In The Air

  • Spring brings the perception of rose-colored lenses - cliché, I know - what did you expect? Birds singing, bees buzzing, and people falling madly in love popping petals off daisies saying "he loves me, he loves me not"? No. Love might be in the air, but so are fresh flowers and....allergies (welcome to the Midwest). Spring is a season of novelty; more colors, new smells, and especially people taking their clothes off (In singsong: "helllllooooo joggers")! All of this causes an increase in dopamine, which brings out PURE euphoria.

    • One example of our euphoric combinations include: A floral aroma with smooth notes of Cherry and Golden Hydrangea, this scent delivers purity. Lingering notes of Poppy, Cabernet & Neroli, and Strawberry provide a wake of passion. Blossoming notes of Rose and Honeysuckle flow through, which bring forth romance.

April's Color of Everlasting Euphoria - Pastels

Pastel shades of blush, lavender, mint, and sky blue captivate the glow of April. Brighter colors, such as coral and peach with hues of sage green and dusty rose showcase a more robust complexion of April. Pastel colors are often associated with calming and peaceful vibes; which is what every bride imagines on her big day. (Get outta here nerves)!

Diamond is the birthstone for the month of April, and our bottle shape Rhombus would capture the perfect diamond look. While the diamond is thought to posses healing powers, provide clarity and balance, it has also long been a symbol of eternal love; given as engagement/wedding rings. While sparkling and clear diamonds are the most recognizable, the gem actually comes in a range of colors. The rarest being blue, green and red. The color of a diamond is dependent on the impurities in the gem. (This is why I'm colorful too*peace sign*). “Diamond” comes from the Greek word “adamas”, meaning invincible or unbreakable (which Chris thinks he is *eyeroll*) ; just like the love and vows you take on your wedding day. (Cue another eyeroll)...*eyeroll*.

Regardless of your color palate, or your symbol for love; Evodia Fragrances will still create a bottle that complements your magical day! With over 20 colors and five bottle styles to choose from, you can create your perfect blend to capture the everlasting euphoria from your wedding.

Shown here is one example of Lavender Blush; a blend of Creamy Pink and Lilac in the Rhombus bottle.
